I think most of us are proud of what we do. We have a strong desire to succeed. And we have an almost infinite capacity to learn and solve problems.

However, I also think most of us rarely presented our best efforts to help explain why so often a good experience, but the results not great and live a good life, but not much. In other words, most of the time, many think we are very happy to live by the 80-20 rule. Therefore, we give only enough effort in exchange for an acceptable result but not spectacular. That said, it seems that they always tend to expect that things will work out as planned could help explain why we are experiencing so much frustration in many of what we and others.

So, after years of studying the behavior human and in particular efforts to lead others, I concluded rather disturbing that a lot of money and time spent in the last fifty years in leadership books, tapes, videos, seminars, webcasts, seminars, training programs and others has been less effective in almost all the concerns of standard use. Unless you are the person benefiting from the sale of books, tapes, etc, etc.

I say most of the time and money spent Leadership Program was for anything, especially since such aid and the lessons appear to have produced very little change in behavior. I think it's because: 1. Most of us believe in our heart-of-heart we're doing the things that we see no reason to change our approach or behavior. 2. Equate the need for change in the recognition of personal weakness failure or professional o. 3. Among those of us that appreciate the need for a program to improve personal belongings, many of them conspire against us to allow the exchange rate we seek. And these three basic premises, I would add that the main reason many of us see no justification for a change in our approach is that can easily point to our achievements (which are) plenty of evidence that our capabilities. However, in a real sense of irony, which I have often thought that many of those around us desperately need a better set of leadership skills.

Not convinced? Next, consider the following: In the 1950's and 1960 no light unless Drucker, Maslow, Burns and others do advanced research in the field of management, leadership, behavior human motivation. Out of this research has evolved from what many call a totally new understanding of how best to exploit the potential that lies within us. This was the beginning of the movement away from the style of "command and control" management that has grown with the needs and constraints of the industrial revolution and been applied very effectively in World War II in favor of a more suitable more educated workforce more mobile today.

And the search continues in the years that followed, we have others including Peters, Quinn, Bennis, Blanchard, Maxwell, Covey, Lencioni and older who have launched their take on the subject. In the process thousands of millions and billions of dollars are spent sitting at the feet of listening or reading what these masters of modern management science has to say. However, despite money from the business community and the time spent has been invested in hundreds of client engagements, where SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) Research were held saw the same four workers prevailing complaints Drucker noted in his pioneering research. So, things like poor communication, lack of work team, lack of opportunities for growth and lack of praise and recognition are the main sources of irritation workforce today. Then one wonders if someone is really listening or learning?

At least some should be in that business groups FORTUNE magazine, local business journals, chambers of commerce and state and others manage to publish its annual list of "Best Places to Work." Only the names on these lists rarely seem to change. Thus, some understand it, but most apparently. This brings us back to my original idea, namely that most of us quickly find our road map for success and say, "Look, I'm doing things right. If not, I would not be where I am today" So we have the validation of more of the same (do what we do and how we do it) We talk a good game, but few seem willing .. to actually walk the talk.

Instead we say. "Senior management or the Board had not beaten me to the job if not well adapted to the application. "And every promotion we received along the way is further evidence of our ability. In addition to this that the work is, or our division is in the budget, or profit or income is one of my collaborators not worse than other departments also said to do the work expected. And certainly no worse than a job that is done by my peers. In fact, my colleagues could take some lessons from me, because I've heard stories about how people are dissatisfied with their. Sound familiar?

In summary, we find that our individual successes, whatever large or small, early enough to begin to convince us that we know what we do and have what it takes. The paradox of success is when our success, however small, with pride and often becomes the enemy of even greater success – especially when we start thinking a little too much in our own press clippings, history and capabilities.
